International Projects - Visiting Scholars and Speakers
International Visiting Scholars - 2002 recipients

The International Visiting Scholars award is meant to complement the UD general education initiative in LIFE, Pathways, capstone, discovery learning and core competencies (www.udel.edu/ugs/gened). The amount of each award will be up to $4000 and is intended to fund up to a two-week visit by an international scholar. The following visiting scholar awards were made:

  1. Pat Barber (FREC), For Dr. Ted Wolfe to visit from Australia on the topic of Leadership Development. $2,745

  2. Norman Wagner (CHEM ENG), For Dr. Dimitris Vlassopoulos to visit from Greece on the topic of Polymer Composites. $4,000

  3. Ken Koford (ECON), For Dr. Stefan Petranov to visit from Bulgaria on the topic of Corporate Governance. $2,050

  4. Marian Palley (WOMS) for Dr. Lyudmila Romanenkove to visit from the Uktraine on the topic International Women's Studies. $3,500

  5. Ann Ardis (HONORS) for Dr. Lynn Thiesmeyer to visit from Japan on the topic of Gender, Culture and Development. $1,500

  6. Sherry Kitto (PLSC) for Dr. Florence Wambugu to visit from Kenya on the topic of Biotechnology Benefits for the Hungry. $4,000
