FAQ:
Q: How many students do I need to run my program?
A: CFIS requires that programs be financially feasible, which usually means enrolling a minimum of 12-14 students per accompanying faculty member. There is no maximum (often, 30+ students participate in a program). As faculty director, you can establish an approximate "ceiling" that will maintain the program's academic integrity and ensure the safety of the entire group. Plan to take as many qualified, eligible students as you feasibly can.
Q: What if I don't recruit the minimum number of students?
A: Your program coordinator will work with you to make the program financially feasible. We want to give as many students as possible the opportunity to study abroad. With some cutback to the budget, we will run your program as long as it can cover its costs.
Q: Can students use financial aid to study abroad?
A: UD students already receiving financial aid through the University may be able to use their aid package for studying abroad on any UD-sponsored program. Non-UD students can use their financial aid if their home institutions allow it. Either way, direct students to the financial aid page in our website for more information.
