International SOS Emergency Travel Assistance - Spring and Fall Programs:
Your program fee includes emergency travel assistance provided by International SOS. This policy provides substantial coverage for medical evacuation and repatriation of remains, as well as some travel assistance. Note that International SOS is not a medical insurance policy and provides only very minimal medical coverage; it is not meant to substitute for standard medical insurance. Please read the information on the UD portal of the International SOS Web site to find out more about coverage and exclusions. With your airline ticket you will receive a SOS card containing the UD log-in number, but you can also download the information here. We will mail a card to the campus address of students who purchase their own airline ticket.
Because this policy provides substantial coverage for medical evacuation and repatriation of remains, we do not recommend that students on semester study abroad programs purchase the International Student I.D. card (also known as the ISIC card) for coverage. However, depending on the location of your program you may wish to purchase the ISIC in order to obtain student discounts on travel and entertainment.
