Study Abroad - Once Accepted
Return to Checklist: Fall / Winter / Spring / Summer
Housing Issues:

While on study abroad, chances are that you will live with one or more roommates. Flexibility, honesty, and respect are essential. If you're a light-sleeper, pack earplugs - a snoring roommate is not an acceptable reason for changing rooms. If you're a late-night person or have special needs, share these with your faculty director before housing assignments are made. Most importantly, if conflict arises once the program's begun, use common sense: calmly discuss the situation with your roommate, or invite your faculty director or program assistant to join you. Work together to find a solution to the problem.

Also note that disrespectful and unacceptable behavior towards your roommate (or anyone on your program) are grounds for being sent home. Hurtful, unsafe, drunken or discriminatory actions will not be tolerated on study abroad.
