If you are not a U.S. citizen, and need a visa, it is your responsibility to research and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Contact the consulate office for each country you will be visiting (www.embassy.org) to see what forms, payments, or supplementary material you may need to submit.
- Contact CFIS if you need "official proof of participation" in study abroad. We will print you a letter on our letterhead.
- Call Foreign Student and Scholar Services at 302-831-2115 (or, for non-UD students, the equivalent office on your campus) to make sure you complete any procedures for getting back into the U.S. when your program is over.
- Keep your faculty director informed about this process.
- If you are a resident alien (have a "green card"): MAKE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR GREEN CARD WITH YOU WHEN YOU TRAVEL ABROAD. Otherwise you will be unable to re-enter the U.S.
If you are on a program which requires visas for U.S. citizens, watch for email instructions from your faculty directors and program coordinator.
