Program Overview
Spend your winter session studying economics with applications to Australia. Join Professors Seidman and Settle for an adventurous five weeks in three different Australian locations -- the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sydney. This program will incorporate lectures with visits to multinational corporations, as well as government visits and a variety of guest lectures.
The program begins with three-weeks at the Gold Coast campus of Griffith University. Although known for its stunning beaches and subtropical rainforest nearby, the Gold Coast is ideally situated about 45 miles from Brisbane -- Australia's third largest city. Daily lectures will be supplemented by several day-trips into Brisbane to meet with experts in Australian business, government and trade. Group sightseeing will include excursions such as bushwalking in the rainforest, touring museums, upclose encounters with koalas and kangaroos, not to mention hours of sun, sand and water.
During week four, the group travels to Sydney for additional lecturers and excursions. We'll celebrate Australia Day with the locals, meet with more economics experts, and hike to the top of the Sydney bridge for the best view in town. You'll then have six days to travel independently in Australia before rejoining the group for a final "farewell dinner" in Sydney.
Accommodation: The group will be housed in apartments on the Gold Coast and a four-star hotel in Sydney.
