Program Overview
This program will provide the participants with an understanding and appreciation of the Hawaiian and Asian Pacific cultures through hands-on experiences. Four islands - Oahu, Big Island, Maui and Kauai will be visited. Activities include but are not limited to museum/cultural attraction tours, culinary classes, and lectures. It not only focuses on foods and cuisine, but also on such other aspects of culture as language, art, and agriculture. The relationships between culture and health is one theme of the program.
Students stay in hotels (two to a room) and condos (three to a room). About ten meals are provided.
UD students pay all program fee deposits by direct bank transfer via this website: http://www.udel.edu/studyabroadpayments. Non-UD students should send a check, payable to the University of Delaware, to CFIS, Elliott Hall, 26 East Main Street, Newark, DE 19716. Credit card payments are not accepted.
