Program Overview

Study in Ecuador, one of the most beautiful and ecologically diverse countries in South America. You'll study the native flora of the Andes, and observe how the region's plants and their ecology within the context of a developing country. Winter Session in Ecuador offers you an enriching academic adventure in one of the world's most beautiful settings.

The program will be based in historic Quito, Ecuador's capital and second largest city, at the Pontifical Catholic University (PUCE). Students will live with Ecuadorian families in Quito. They will also visit other sites on the weekends, ending with a four-day cruise aboard a boat in the Galapagos Islands. Explorations of native plants in the high Andes will also be supplemented by a field trip to the Amazon. All meals will be provided, both in Quito and on excursions.
