Program Overview
Gain first-hand experience with the business and marketing strategies of international companies. While overseas, you'll visit American, Austrian, German, Czech, and Hungarian companies engaged in international business. Austria and Germany are members of the European Union -- a major trading partner of the United States. The Czech Republic and Hungary are former Soviet Block countries trying to develop closer trading relationships with the West.
We will visit companies in Frankfurt, Munich, Prague, Budapest and Vienna. Company tours are typically held Monday through Thursday, leaving several three-day weekends for travel and sightseeing. Furthermore, you'll have the opportunity to celebrate New Year's Eve in Germany and to spend four to five days towards the end of the program traveling independently in Europe, followed by a program wrap-up session in Germany.
Students will be lodged in hotels (two to a room) for the duration of the program. This program is designed for undergraduate students of the Business and Economics college. The two courses will consist of 10 - 12 class meetings in the U.S. prior to departure, 16 company visits while abroad, and one research paper for each course.
