Program Overview
People in all areas of business face complex issues and tasks that arise from the increasingly global nature of business. Executives need to be adept at recognizing global business complexities, and at adapting their companies' strategies, marketing and management to different cultures, institutions, economic conditions and political situations.
The central European program puts M.B.A. students in the midst of major global business challenges: the ongoing development of the European Union, and the continuing, sometimes unpredictable transitions of the business world in former Soviet Bloc countries. The program brings M.B.A. students face-to-face with managers, scholars and other key decision makers in central Europe who are both leading and adapting to ongoing change in the business world. The program includes teaching by faculty from the University of Delaware, Central European University (Hungary), and the CMC Graduate School of Business (Czech Republic), and will include company and institution visits on all weekdays and cultural activities on weekends.
Cities to be visited tentatively include Prague, Budapest, and at least one other major city in the region (most likely Vienna, Austria). Housing is in business class hotels in city centers.
Please note: The program fee for this year's program does not include airfare to/from Europe. Students will be responsible for getting to and from the program location independently. We estimate the cost of the plane ticket to be between $800-900, although you may be able to find a better individual fare.
