Program Overview

Travel to Brussels and Prague this Winter Session for an in-depth study of the European Union. The first week of the program will be spent in Prague, a city of great history, beauty and charm. Lectures and speakers the first week will provide a background to European Union enlargement, focusing on the Czech Republic and the country's integration to the European Union. While in Prague, the group will also travel to Terezin, a concentration camp, and examine how war impacts a country's identity.

Brussels, the political capital of the EU and home to the European Commission and the European Parliament, will be our home for the next three weeks. In addition to daily lectures on the politics of the European Union and current issues, we will hear from guest speakers across multiple fields - including EU officials, lobbyists, public opinion researchers, representatives of foreign governments to the EU, and members of the European Parliament. From Brussels, the group will venture to Paris and Normandy for educational and cultural excursions.

Students will be housed double-occupancy in hotels, B&B's and hostels with about half of the meals included in the program fee.
