Study Abroad - Programs
Summer 2003
London HESC
July 17, 2003 - August 21, 2003

This program has been cancelled for 03J. Check with the faculty director for more information

Program Overview

Study the principles of coaching soccer and British history in the United Kingdom, a land renowned for both its history and its soccer (or as the Brits say – football) prowess. Students will also enjoy the chance to attend an English Premier League match and to participate in or to observe three friendly games between the program participants and local English, Scottish, or Welsh soccer clubs.

Based in London, you’ll interact with players and coaches from various teams throughout the UK as you study the offensive and defensive tactics, styles of play and coaching strategies utilized by these experts. In addition, you’ll learn about British history and culture through visits to the Imperial War Museum, Parliament and many other sites. This summer session program typically takes a variety of excursions including overnight stays in Edinburgh, Scotland; the English Lake District, and Wales.

Students reside in double rooms in hotels when traveling outside of London and in flats while in London. Some meals are provided when traveling outside of London, but students are responsible for all meals in London.

Whether you’re interested in Arsenal’s defense, Churchill’s tactics in World War II or the view from the Warwick Castle, the Summer Session London, England HESC program is your chance to walk into Wembley Stadium and experience the thrill of the athletes and coaches who have played on this renowned English battlefield.
