First Place: $100
Title: "True Blue on Franz Josef"
Student: Laura Devenney
Program: Winter 2005 New Zealand, ANSC
Adaptability was probably the most important quality on this day. The Franz Jozef glacier changes form every day, thus forcing climbing tours to cut new steps out of the ice, and to continuously be weary of the next route. These Blue Hens found the capability to adapt to new people, a unique culture, and many diverse landscapes!
