I met these four children from Chiapas on the beach of Progresso where we formed a friendship. They told me all about their lives, and I told them about mine. They loved that I was from the United States and could speak to them in Spanish - and wanted to know about them!

When people think of the Chinese people, they often only think of one uniform culture. Meeting this child in traditional Mongolian dress helped us realize that just as we have rich minority cultures in the US, China does as well.
